Hobelix was born on May 20, 2012, in Alter. In his genes he carries the qualities of his father, the stallion Beirão, a Grand Prix dressage horse. On his father's side, he has three brothers at the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art: Jaborandi, Nubio and Nublado. From his mother, Ralaça, he has only one brother at the School, Jicabo. He is also the grandson of the famous horse Ruby, who at the London Olympics in 2012 placed 16th in the KUR final. Hobelix is a fine horse, sensitive according to the reactions shown when being offered help, very promising and with a special flair for the Piaffe.
