Long Reins
Through teaching, the horse becomes docile and acquires a slow cadence that enables his guidance by a rider on foot. The indications provided by the reins and the crop prove sufficient to execute even the most difficult exercises in the “Haute Ecole” that we see ridden horses perform: shoulder-in, flanking, the half-pass, pirouette and passage.
