The Mexican Garden (spanning around 5,000 square metres) was planted in the main valley of the Park of Monserrate, the warmest and driest area, following its complete transformation: the watercourse was deviated into a canal built halfway up the south bank and with the construction of a complex system of support walls to establish terraces, pathways and an efficient system for the collection and transportation of water, which integrated two older tanks. In the place of the former weir, a Lake was built to set off the base of the Lawn. This features collections of warm climate plants: Palms, Yuccas, Nolinas, Agaves e Cycads.
