Young Musicians at the Palaces of Sintra cycle
A KALEIDOSCOPE OF TALENTS ON A JOURNEY THROUGH MUSIC
The new Young Musicians at the Palaces of Sintra cycle is designed with a new musical programming concept in mind, aimed at ensuring young musicians and music lovers enjoy artistic fulfilment, in the broadest sense of the term. The hope is that this extends to the wider community where the specialised music teaching institutions are located, fostering contact with the most important monuments and natural and cultural assets that form part of the rich heritage under Parques de Sintra's custody.
In this way, Parques de Sintra seeks to stimulate young talent, improve the quality of artistic education in Portugal, and nurture the efforts and enthusiasm of the families involved, as well as interest among the general public.
This first edition of the Young Musicians at the Palaces of Sintra cycle will take place on Saturdays in May in the Music Room at the Palace of Monserrate and the Swan Room at the National Palace of Sintra, showcasing instrumental and vocal groups from leading specialised music institutions. Bringing us programmes with repertoires as broad as they are enticing, these performances will span early music and the great classical and Romantic canon, as well as Portuguese music, cinema and protest songs in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution.
