Visit to the Moorish Castle
Description
On this guided visit, the Moorish Castle is the setting for an integrated approach to the history of the human occupation of the Sintra hills, going back to ancient times, and the consequences of human intervention in the landscape. The visit begins in the Neolithic period, moving through the Moorish occupation and King Ferdinand II’s adoption of the Park of Pena as a romantic ruin in the 19th century, to the present day.
