Nature for Everyone
Description:
Discover the fauna and flora of King Ferdinand II’s Hunting Grounds, next to the Convent of the Capuchos. This visit was designed for everyone, including people with limited mobility who choose to use the electric wheelchair or visit with an electric wheelchair with sufficient strength and stability. The route consists of two sections - one section with 1.5 km and other longer, with 2.2 km and areas of greater slope.
Additional Information
- To those with limited mobility who intend to use the available electric wheelchair, it is necessary to book in advance to ensure availability and ideal conditions of enjoyment. The wheelchair must be collected at the ticket office of the Convent of the Capuchos;
- In order to use the electric wheelchair, it will always be necessary to meet employees from Parques de Sintra, who not only provide the equipment but also provide all the necessary information for the visitor to have a safely and autonomously experience;
- The route constantly receives routine maintenance. Despite being a route in nature - which can not suffer major changes - it is possible to find some irregularities in some areas due to weather conditions, as well as the presence of branches along the way (frequent maintenance ensures that it won’t make it impossible to pass);
- There are brief sections of large elevation, in a downward direction. Although it is possible to overtake these sections with an electric wheelchair, its existence and the possibility of enjoying the 1.5km section of the route, where these characteristics are not found, are reinforced.
