André Rosinha 'Triskel'
‘Triskel’ is the name of André Rosinha's new album, a project that revolves around the concept of the number 3, it being his third album, written at the age of 33, for a trio. The etymology of the Greek word that has come down to us today, ‘triskele,’ is linked to the idea of cycle, action and progress, and thus ‘Triskel’ (2022) emerges as an evolution of the ‘Árvore’ (2019) project, allowing the group to get to know each other better musically and create an increasingly cohesive and consolidated language. The songs are crafted compositionally, while still preserving the all-important space for free improvisation, with melody playing a central role, influenced by classical music and the lyrical aesthetics of European jazz. It is upon this symbolic trinity that the André Rosinha Trio now bases its work as it takes the next step and moves into new areas.
