Due to the forecast of a high probability of precipitation on the 8th and 9th of September, the concerts scheduled for the first weekend of the Jazz at Monserrate Festival were cancelled as the necessary comfort and safety conditions are not met. Learn more about ticket refunds here.
On the first weekend of Jazz at Monserrate, there is again space for a film set to music, this time by the duo composed of Nuno Costa (guitar) and Óscar Graça (piano). On the screen, a work by Ernst Lubitsch, “I don't want to be a man”, made in 1919, this is a comedy in three acts with a rebellious teenager as the protagonist, who wished she had been born a man so that she could enjoy all the things that she likes most.
More than a hundred years after it was made, and a portrait of a reality that is still experienced today, Lubitsch's film will engage in the Park of Monserrate with the music created and composed by the two Portuguese musicians.
