The Portuguese School of Equestrian Art performs at the most prestigious equestrian show of the last decade

24 May 2023

At the invitation of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art (EPAE) will be part of the "Gala of the 5 schools", the most important equestrian show of the last decade. On 30 June and 1 July, at 9:00 pm, the four most renowned European equestrian academies will perform in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, something that has not happened since 2012.

In addition to the EPAE and the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, which is hosting the event, Le Cadre noir from Saumur, France, and the Spanish Riding School from Vienna, Austria, will also be performing. Abu Dhabi Royal Equestrian Art, a new school from the United Arab Emirates that is a partner of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, will also join the show, where it will make its absolute debut.

The five schools will perform solo and in various ensemble numbers, showcasing the best of each country's equestrian tradition at the highest level. EPAE will bring to this prestigious international stage traditional Portuguese equestrian art, a cultural heritage that is unique in the world. Represented by 10 riders and 13 Lusitano Alter Real horses, supported by 4 handlers, they will perform a "Pas a quatre" and participate together in "Airs above the ground by hand", "Mounted airs above the ground" and the "Carousel".
