Next Sunday, April 7th, the City Council of Sintra will promote the Sintra Trail Cruz Alta, a sporting event for trail athletes and hikers, with over 1000 registrations. This event will cause traffic restrictions that affect access to parks and monuments managed by Parques de Sintra, with the exception of the National Palace of Queluz.
Anyone planning to visit the National Palace of Sintra, the Park and National Palace of Pena, the Chalet of the Countess of Edla, the Moorish Castle, the Park and Palace of Monserrate or the Convent of the Capuchos should take into account the following traffic restrictions taking place from 8 am:
- Access to the town centre of Sintra will be closed to traffic from 8 am to and 10 am;
- Traffic restricted in the town centre from 10 am and 2 pm;
- Traffic restricted on Rua Barbosa Du Bocage (access to Monserrate) from 8 am to 12.30 am.
The Sintra Trail Cruz Alta starts and finishes at the Terreiro Rainha D. Amélia, located in the historic centre of the town, in front of the National Palace of Sintra. It comprises two competitive events: one of 12 kilometers and another of 20 kilometers, including a 12-kilometer hike that will include the highest point of the Sintra Hills, the Cruz Alta (or High Cross), inside the Park of Pena.
