Road closures and traffic restrictions in Sintra on the day of the “End of Europe” Race

On the morning of Sunday 26 January, the 34th edition of the ‘End of Europe’ Race will take place, an athletics event of unparalleled beauty which is running at absolute capacity this year with 3,000 participants. As usual, the start of the 16,945 metre race will be in the town of Sintra, next to Fonte Mourisca, and the finish will be at Cabo da Roca, which will lead to traffic cuts and restrictions affecting access to the parks and monuments under the management of Parques de Sintra, with the exception of the National Palace of Queluz.

 

Therefore, on this day, everyone who is planning visits to the National Palace of Sintra, the Park and National Palace of Pena, the Chalet of the Countess of Edla, the Moorish Castle, the Park and Palace of Monserrate or the Convent of the Capuchos, must take into account the following traffic hold-ups and restrictions:

 

Road closure at Volta do Duche, from  08h00 am to 11h00 am;

- Road closure on the access road to National Palace of Sintra, from 09h00 am to 10h45 am;

- Road closure on Estrada da Pena, from 09:00 am to 11:00 am;

- Restricted traffic on Estrada Nacional no. 247, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm;

- Road closure on the access road to Cabo da Roca, from 6:00 am to 02:30 pm.
