The Gardens of the National Palace of Queluz now with free app to support visits
29 Jul 2024
To support and guide visits to the Gardens of the National Palace of Queluz, Parques de Sintra has launched the "Queluz Maps" web application, a free tool for mobile devices which joins two identical applications already implemented in the Park of Monserrate ("Monserrate Maps") and the Park of Pena ("Pena Maps").
This mobile solution, accessed via QR codes located at the entrance and throughout the Gardens of Queluz, lets visitors know their location in real time and gives them the necessary directions to get to any point of interest. It also allows visitors to choose between two routes depending on their preference: the full route, which takes around an hour and is approximately 1.7km long, for those who want to include the New Garden and the Stables in their visit; or a shorter route, of around 30 minutes and 800 metres, which covers the Botanical Garden and the Great Waterfall.
Available in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish, the "Queluz Maps" app also includes a search function and points out visitor support facilities, such as toilets and the shop.
This project was implemented as part of the Mobilising Agenda ‘ATT – ACELERAR E TRANSFORMAR O TURISMO,’ of which Parques de Sintra – Monte da Lua SA is a partner, supported by the PRR – Recovery and Resilience Plan and the Next Generation EU European Funds (more information at: www.recuperarportugal.gov.pt).
