Medieval and Renaissance dances liven up visits to the National Palace of Sintra
03 Apr 2024
From 06 April onwards, on the first Saturday of each month, visits to the National Palace of Sintra will take place to the sounds and rhythms of medieval and Renaissance dances. Between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm, visitors will be surprised by ladies, nobles and other figures who will show how they danced at court festivities during the reigns of King João I and King Manuel I, monarchs who made their mark on the history and experiences of the oldest Palace in Portugal.
The shows take place in the Swan Room, the Golden Chamber and the Galley Room, emblematic rooms of this Palace, and are run by the “Dances with History” Association of Sintra, which will provide a journey through time, using the costumes of the nobility and a repertoire from the 15th and 16th centuries.
To attend these presentations, which are free of charge until the end of the year, with the exception of the months of August and December, simply purchase a ticket to visit the National Palace of Sintra.
